Growth Mindset Tips (How a growth mindset can help you beat addiction)
The name of the lifelong game? For me, it’s to always be growing. First, I will say that growth looks different to different people. I am always working to get better and I will always be a student, ALWAYS.That is the number one quality necessary for growth, to be a great student. Never assume you know it all and absorb positive information daily that aligns with the vision you have for your life. Sounds pretty simple right?Yes! It can be. As with anything it requires consistency sprinkled in with some discipline and humility. Let’s begin with talking about what a growth mindset is. Putting it simply it means that a person understands that their abilities can be developed. You can always learn and grow especially in things that are important to you! This is a game changer in life if you choose to adapt to this way of thinking. On the flip side, a fixed mindset means you aren’t open and you believe this is just how it is. Let’s be brash for a second. That is a sh*tty mindset to have. This is where you believe there is no control over your life and you have fallen into victimhood. No thank you!! Say it with me, circumstances are not always on my side, but I have control over my life.
Daily Mantra: “I have CONTROL over my life.”
Let me explain this in a few phrases how the completely different mindset options sound and how you can adapt your way of thinking to reflect a more positive life.Fixed Mindset: “I will never be good with my finances. It’s just who I am.”Growth Mindset: “I will learn how to control my spending and build up my finances so I can get out of the paycheck to paycheck lifestyle.”Fixed Mindset: “I can’t get sober. I will lose all my friends.”Growth Mindset: “I will get sober because I have no other option to get control of my life. I will find a new tribe.”Fixed Mindset: “I will never leave my hometown. I am destined here like the rest of my family.”Growth Mindset: “I will get out of my hometown because I am ready to build a life of my dreams and challenge myself.”As you can see above, having a growth mindset is really just like making a lifestyle choice. I choose to have a growth mindset! Now say it with me:
I CHOOSE TO HAVE A GROWTH MINDSET
Now practice implementing this into your daily life.
